Dileptonic final states

The purpose of this group is to keep a strong technical collaboration between all the people in LLN doing a CMS analysis involving, directly or indirectly (e.g. control samples, main background, etc.) a dileptonic final state.

Ongoing analyses with a direct interest in dileptons:

• Julien and Andrea: ttbar in e+mu channel
• Nicolas: gamma+gamma → 2l
• Giacomo and Loic: bump hunting in mu+mu-
• Severine: gamma+p → Wt → 2l
• Simon: tt→HbWb, H→WA, A→tau+tau, both W→l

Ongoing analyses with an indirect interest in dileptons:

• Loic and Giacomo: selection of a Z→mu+mu- control sample for dE/dx and ToF monitoring
• Julien and Andrea: Z(→mu+mu-)+jets as control sample for tt→e+mu
• Andrea: Z(→mu+mu-)+jets and tt→mu+mu- as control samples for single top (t-channel production) in single-muonic channel

Theoretical interest in dileptons:

• Fabio and Rikkert : new resonances in ttbar
• Pierre and Olivier : ttbar invariant mass reconstruction through ME methods

• First meeting: 12th of june 2008 (thursday), at 11h (room CYCL09), Julien: status report on tt→e+mu

  • Discussion: we all have to take into account the pile-up even in very-early-data scenarios (3.9 collisions/crossing with the S156 configuration) - but the available MC right now assumes 0 pile-up!
• Second meeting: 15th of october 2008 (wednesday), at 15:30h (room E349), status report of all dileptonic analyses ongoing in LLN.
